No need to have Time Machine just for this specific purpose….you simply need to be aware and careful. I’ve been doing the copy/paste/rename thing for 15 years and it has always worked perfectly and safely. Of course, in addition, ALWAYS back up each MS update so you have a safe copy to revert to should the need arise. you will then have - and can use - multiple versions of MS on your system. MainStage “x.x.x”), you can update the default MainStage installation and still retain the full use of the copied/renamed version of MainStage i.e. This (still) blows my mind, and I’ve been using MainStage for just over 15 years.įWIW, I don’t support illegitimate software but this option has saved many of my friends and colleagues after they’ve manually or automatically updated without having taken precautions.įor future readers of this thread: if you copy and paste the MainStage app and then rename it (e.g. I find it incredibly ironic that Apple’s position with situations like this forces people into exploring illegitimate means just so they can get Apple’s software working again….which only “broke” due to an offical Apple update. I'm also afraid when I start a new project these kind of crashes will follow (i did some brief toying around of opening a new project, creating some audio and software instrument tracks, etc to see if it would crash and so far it hasn't) Any help would be so much appreciated. I guess I'll just keep trying everything I can to narrow down what is causing the issue but I really need these project files, I need to finish these songs. I haven't had any crashes when opening plugin windows, it's only during playing or moving the play bar cursor over certain parts of the project. Possibly omnisphere? But then again I could playback omnisphere tracks in other projects. So obviously I must be a certain plugin that is on certain tracks and when it comes to playpack of those sections, logic crashes, however, I can't find a certain plugin or instrument vst that links both the crash points in both projects. It's like a certain track or number of tracks are causing the crash during playback. I've tested both projects and they both crash at the same points in their respective projects, it doesn't seem to be random. I can play parts of these projects but when it hits certain points or when i move the play-bar-cursor (not sure exact term) over certain parts it crashes. I've opened other projects and the songs could play through just fine. ![]() The crashes are happening with my two most recent saved projects before updating to 10.5. After some phone calls with apple support I still can't figure out what is causing the crashes. Please let me know if there is any other information I should provide.Logic Pro Crashing after updating to 10.5 - Please Help This morning I was opening up a recent project and logic prompted me to update to 10.5, so I did, and then I ran in to problems.Įvery time I hit play the project I had open instantly crashed. On Mainstage, can I check the patches to see if they are detuned? Can these controllers inadvertently be sending pitch detune messages? If so, how do I turn it off? Please be careful and don't forget to save all your patches that you've redesigned and put them into projects as Cat showed us. ![]() Last night Omnisphere replaced my saved multi with initialization patches. I wouldn't believe this it hadn't happened to me. ![]() This has occurred on various controllers, including the Korg X50, the Alesis Vortex Wireless, and the Alesis V61. This is on Win 7 圆4 Ableton Live 9.2 Update: Saving the patches individually was necessary. The out-of-tune pitches have occurred with sounds in Omnisphere 2, sforzando (playing sf2 files consisting of 24-bit, 44100 Hz AIF samples), and other instruments. I've seen a few similar posts on this issue and I wanted to ask for tips on isolating the cause or causes of the problem. The problem is fixed when I close the concert and reload it, but this obviously is not a good solution during band rehearsal and performances. On numerous occasions, shortly after loading a concert, patches from various software instruments play out of tune. I'm running Mainstage 3 on a Macbook Air (2013) with an i7 processor, 8 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD containing over 100 GB of free space.
